Extensions Maintenance & Storage

Gentle Cleansing: Wash your extensions regularly, but not excessively (once a week is a good rule of thumb). Use a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner designed for extensions or delicate hair. Focus shampoo on the roots and conditioner on the mid-lengths and ends. Gently brush them while submerged in cool water, and avoid harsh rubbing.

Conditioning Love: Deep condition your extensions regularly (every other wash or once a week) to replenish moisture. Use a leave-in conditioner or hair mask specifically formulated for extensions.

Brush it Out: Brushing is key to detangling and preventing matting. Use a soft-bristled brush designed for extensions and brush gently, starting from the ends and working your way up to the weft. Brushing daily is recommended.

Heat with Caution: Minimize heat styling as much as possible. If you must use heat tools, apply a heat protectant spray beforehand and use the lowest heat setting possible.

Air Dry Whenever Possible: Let your extensions air dry whenever possible. If you must use a blow dryer, use the cool setting and avoid pointing the airflow directly at the weft.

Nighttime Care: Before bed, braid your extensions loosely to prevent tangles. Sleeping on a silk or satin pillowcase can also help reduce friction and frizz.

Clean and Dry Completely: Before storing, ensure your extensions are completely clean and dry. Any leftover moisture can lead to mildew or matting.

Detangle with Care: Gently brush out any tangles before storing.

Braid or Twist Loosely: Braid or loosely twist your extensions to prevent them from getting tangled or matted.

Cool, Dry Place: Store your extensions in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. A satin or cotton pouch or box is ideal.

Avoid Crushing: Don’t store your extensions in a way that could crush them. This can cause permanent bends or waves.
